TU Wien, Assistent/in PostDoc, Mathematische Stochastik
The Research Unit Mathematical Stochastics (MSTOCH)
of the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, TU Wien,
invites applications for a postdoctoral assistant in probability.
The contract is for 6 years.
The successful candidate is expected to conduct a high quality research program in the fields of probability theory and statistical mechanics. The selection will be mainly based on the excellence of previous scientific achievements and on the quality of the scientific project. The candidate will be also expected to contribute to the teaching mission of the MSTOCH department, giving support to courses in the Bachelor and/or Master’s programs.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD and have an excellent research and publication profile in theoretical probability. Experience in teaching probability courses/tutorials and in autonomous organisation of exercise sessions and seminars will be appreciated.
Knowledge of German is desirable but not necessary.
The starting date is March 2020 or by mutual agreement.
The monthly minimum salary is currently EUR 3.803,90 gross (14x per year, Pay Grade B1). The contract is for 40hrs/week.
