Working field: The Institute of Mathematics of the TU Berlin aims to fill a junior research group leadership position in "Stochastic Analysis and Quantitative Finance". Quantitative Financial Mathematics combines and develops techniques of stochastic analysis with elements of numerical mathematics, optimization and machine learning. The head of the department should be qualified in these areas of mathematics by a university degree and a doctorate in stochastic and financial mathematics. The position is open to early career researchers who have demonstrated scientific independence and are in the process of establishing their own research program. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in existing/planned collaborative projects (MATH+, IRTG2544, SFB/TRR 388, ...). The position is limited to 5 years and comes with a staff position E13 TV-L.
Requirements:
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent)
At the time of hire, proof of completion of doctoral degree in mathematics; with a focus on stochastics must be submitted
Sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected
