Postdoc Position in Econometrics and Statistics, at TU Dortmund

The Chair of Econometrics and Statistics at the Technische Universität Dortmund seeks candidates for a Postdoc Position in Econometrics and Statistics to begin as soon as possible. The contract period will be suitably designed according to the qualification target, but initially for a maximum of three years. The salary scale is according to TV-L (or TVÜ-L) Entgeltgruppe 13. This is a full-time position but reduction to a part-time position is in principle possible. The possibility of further scientific qualification (e.g. habilitation) is given and supported.

We seek candidates that hold (or expect to complete in the near future) a PhD in mathematics, statistics, econometrics, economics, physics or related studies with a strong background in mathematics and excellent grades. Successful candidates are expected to further develop statistic and econometric methods, with a focus on the research areas of the group; and/or to apply the developed methods innovatively. You are committed to innovative teaching both with respect to content and teaching methods and have sound knowledge of relevant software packages (e.g. Matlab or R). You have strong interest in scientific work, are motivated to get acquainted with new topics and are a team player with good social skills and a high level of commitment to cooperation. English skills are highly desirable.

The tasks of successful candidates comprise research with the possibility of further scientific qualification (e.g., habilitation), support in the acquisition of research grants, adequate involvement in teaching (4 hours per week) and limited support in the administrative tasks of the research group.
