Statistics Post-doc at TU Wien

The Research Unit Applied Statistics (ASTAT) within the Institute of Statistics and Mathematical Methods in Economics, Faculty of Mathematics and Geoinformation at TU Wien, invites applications for a university assistant (assistant professor non-tenure track). This is a fixed 6 year term position for 40 hours/week. Expected starting date: September 2022.

Tasks:
Actively carry out research in areas of statistics or data science that align with or add on the research strengths in ASTAT and the institute, with a view to publication in influential and high-impact scholarly journals.
Develop research collaborations within the institute and the university.
Develop research collaborations nationally and internationally.
Teach statistics and data science courses to a range of audiences at the University and supervise students.
Participation in organizational and administrative tasks of the research unit and the faculty.

Your profile:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning or Biostatistics, or a related area with a specialization or emphasis in statistics from an internationally recognized institution by the start of employment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent English are required
Knowledge of German is desirable but not necessary

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for
university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 4,061.50/month gross, 14 times/year for 40
hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
