At the institute of Mathematics (working group “Biostatistics”) in the faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf a post as a
scientific employee (m/f/d)
(100 %, pay grade 13 TV-L)
is to be occupied at the earliest possible date. The employment is initially limited for a period of three years with an option for prolongation. It is a qualification position in the sense of the Act of Academic Fixed-Term Contract (Wissenschaftsvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG), which is to promote the scientific qualification of the employee. The position is affiliated with the newly created working group “Biostatistics” (Jun.-Prof. Dr. Kathrin Möllenhoff) and includes the development of statistical methodology, motivated by biological and medical applications. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to complete a doctorate.
• Research on the development of statistical methodology
• Writing of scientific publications
• Participation in teaching activities of the Mathematical Institute
Our requirements: Applicants are required to hold a scientific university degree (e.g. master‘s, diploma or equivalent) in mathematics, statistics or a related field. Knowledge of a statistical programming language (e.g. R, Python) is an advantage.
A strong interest in medical and biological applications is desirable, however, knowledge in these fields is not required.
The pay scale grouping will be, depending on the personal qualification of the applicant, up to pay grade 13 TV-L. In principle, the employment can also take place part-time if no compelling official reasons are opposed in an individual case. Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf aims at increasing the percentage of employed women.
