Research fellow (m/f/d) with expected full-time employment - E 13 TV-L HU (third party funding limited to 3 years), to be filled as a qualification position as a PostDoc or for doctoral studies

The Chair of Statistics at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin is looking for a research fellow within the project "Statistical modelling using mouse movements to model measurement errors and improve data quality in web surveys" funded by the German Research Foundation. This collaborative project with the Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich (Prof. Dr. Frauke Kreuter) develops statistical and machine learning methods for the use of paradata (mouse movements, clicks, etc.) to improve data quality in web surveys.

Job description:
  • Scientific research in the third-party funded project '"Statistical modelling using mouse movements to model measurement errors and improve data quality in web surveys"
  • Development of statistical and machine learning methods for the use of paradata
  • Collaboration with project participants at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich
  • Scientific dissemination of the project results
  • Assignments for the own scientific qualification

Requirements:
  • Completed academic degree in statistics, mathematics, data science or a related field with statistical methodological focus. PhD desirable, the possibility of a doctorate is also given.
  • Ability to develop statistical and machine learning methods as well as for interdisciplinary cooperation
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
  • Solid command of programming languages (preferably R and Python)
