The Data Science Group at the Faculty of Economics at Bielefeld
University offers a
*full-time research position (Postdoc)*
starting as soon as possible (E13 TV-L, non-permanent position)

*Your Tasks*

- research in the areas of stochastic modeling and statistical
inference, in particular stochastic processes, uncertainty
quantification and machine learning; scientific analysis and development
of research software; collaboration in third-party funded research
projects of the chair, as well as data analysis with applications in
medicine (60 %)
- teaching (depending on the final assignment of tasks to the extent of
up to 4 LVS) in the field of statistics and data science, including
assistance with examinations and supervision of seminar papers and
theses (25 %)
- project management, organization of events and workshops (possibly in
cooperation with other institutions involved in the project) as well as
collaboration in academic self-administration (15 %)

Employment is conductive to scientific qualification.

*Your Profile*

We expect:
- completed university studies (Master's degree or equivalent) in the
field of statistics, data science, mathematics or related subjects
- doctorate or advanced doctoral project (expected completion of the
doctorate within 6 months) in statistics, data science, mathematics or
related subjects
- very good knowledge and research experience in the field of statistics
or stochastic modeling with relevant publications, including at least a
good knowledge of statistics
- good knowledge in the development of research software (especially in
the programming language R)
- experience in teaching statistics
- very good command of written and spoken English
- interest in interdisciplinary cooperation, especially in the field of
medicine/natural sciences
- independent working style and organizational skills
- ability to work in a team 

Preferred experience and skills:
- experience in interdisciplinary cooperation
- experience in presenting research results at scientific meetings
- experience in the scientific guidance of students and doctoral candidates
- experience in project management or organization of scientific events
- experience in publishing research software
- good knowledge of German
- international experience in higher education

*We offer*

- salary according to Remuneration level 13 TV-L
