The School of Business and Economics hosts the subject area statistics. In order to strengthen and expand research and education in the subject we are now looking for a post doc researcher.
Placement: Växjö or Kalmar
Extent: The position is for two years, 100%

Subject area

Subject area description
The job consist mainly of conducting research in the subjects of multivariate and random matrix analysis. Research experience in portfolio weight estimation is desirable.

Context of position
This position is a fulltime position for two years as a postdoc researcher at the department of economics and statistics. The candidate is expected to develop scientific concepts and communicate the results of the research verbally and in writing. The candidate will also participate in project meetings and coordination duties and will prepare and submit scientific publications.
Research is carried out together with statisticians and economists in the department and in Linnæus University Centre for Data Intensive Sciences and Applications (DISA), which is one of the cutting-edge research environments at Linnæus University. We also run collaboration projects on the platform Sustainable co-creation through interdisciplinary solutions, which includes researchers in finance, logistics and statistics.
The position consists of 80% research and 20 % of teaching and/or administrative duties

Quality requirements
You should have achieved a doctoral degree by the application deadline to qualify for a position as postdoctoral researcher at the Linnaeus University. The doctoral thesis shall be in statistics or mathematical statistics and with focus on a relevant area according to the specific position stated in the advertisement, for example, High dimensional data, Portfolio weight estimation, Random matrix distributions and Singular matrices.
Since a position as postdoc aims to give new holders of the doctorate the opportunity mainly to strengthen and develop their scholarly proficiency, we aim for those who have a doctoral degree not older than 3 years counting from last date of application.

The application (in English) should contain a CV, documentation of grades and courses in the PhD program, the names of two academic references, a brief description of past and current research projects, a personal letter and any other documentation that the applicant would like to present.
