Post-doctoral Position in Statistics/Data science in INRAE Montpellier

We are searching for a postdoctoral candidate to work in the INRAE
Montpellier, France. This position is funded by NUMEV labex and is a
follow-up of a long-term collaboration between peasant organizations,
agronomists, geneticists, and statisticians to assess the crop diversity
in West Africa. Ecological, socio-economical and cultural factors
influence the spatial organization of crop diversity, but available
clustering methods do not allow to consider these factors. The young
researcher will work on multivariate spatial clustering problems to
characterize the spatial organization of crop diversity, and connect the
resulting patterns to ecological, socio-economical and cultural
patterns. This includes devising new clustering procedures that possibly
handle covariates and spatial constraints. Depending on her/his
interests, the candidate will study the statistical properties of the
proposed methods by establishing clustering rates. The methods will be
applied to a large data-base on crop diversity that has been collected
through the COEX projet.
