Post Doc (f/m) Statistics on Bayesian methods in early clinical development

For the Methodology Statistics team we are looking for a post-doc interested in the application of Bayesian methods to early clinical development. You are highly motivated with a strong background in statistics/mathematics and excellent communication skills to investigate innovative approaches for early clinical development? You are interested to work and publish on questions around Bayesian dose finding, Bayesian basket designs, borrowing designs and Go / NoGo decision making? Then take the chance and apply at Boehringer Ingelheim located in Biberach. This position is limited for 2 years.

Tasks & responsibilities
•As post-doc you identify, develop and evaluate promising approaches in one or more of the following areas: Bayesian dose finding, Bayesian basket and umbrella designs, Bayesian borrowing designs, Bayesian decision making under uncertainty.
•Your investigations will lead to ready-to-use software, graphical user interfaces, technical reports and publications in collaboration with statistics colleagues within and outside of BI.
•In your new role you supervise students (master’s and bachelor’s level) on subtopics within the area defined above leading to internship reports, theses and related software. You network with related academic institutions.
•Furthermore you present your results at internal and external meetings and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
•You provide trainings on basic and advanced Bayesian methods to statistics and non-statistics colleagues within BI.
•Moreover you work in a stimulating environment, in collaboration with experts in the field and be part of the Methodology Statistics team at BI.

•PhD degree in Mathematics/Statistics or related field
•Expert knowledge in Bayesian statistics and/or clinical development is a plus. Familiarity with techniques like BLRM-EWOC, Bayesian hierarchical modelling, joint models, ExNex, meta-analytic-predictive/ power priors is a plus
•Knowledge in R and a MCMC related tool like JAGS or STAN. Ideally experience with R-shiny and publication of R package
•Demonstrated track record of publications in scientific journals
•Fluency in English (written and spoken)
