Post-doc in statistical and computational genomics

Duties & Responsibilities: Highly motivated candidates, interested in statistical and computational genomics, are invited to apply for a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of MSKCC. This position will primarily focus on the reproducible analysis of microRNA sequencing and single-cell sequencing data. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead the development of novel methodologies for sequencing data normalization and analysis, and apply them to make a real impact on ongoing cancer studies in collaboration with leading clinicians and experimentalists in cancer research.
Position Qualifications: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, or a related field, ideally with experience in sequencing data analysis. The successful candidate should have solid methodological training in statistics, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong computing capabilities using R and other relevant software.
Position Supervision: The successful applicant will be supervised by Dr. Li-Xuan Qin, who has obtained a previous NIH R01 grant and an ongoing R21 grant on the topics of genomics study design and data normalization and has published at top biostatistics/bioinformatics and cancer research journals.
