PhD Student Position at LMU Munich

The Munich Center for Machine Learning (MCML) at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) is looking for a PhD student in Functional Data Analysis.

Your position: In close collaboration with your advisor Fabian Scheipl and interdisciplinary collaborators, you will develop, implement, document and evaluate methods for scalable and interpretable functional data analysis. You will work as a full-time research assistant witout teaching duties.

Your profile: We are looking for a dynamic, reliable and motivated student with a M.Sc./Diploma in statistics or related discplines. Strong interest in and prior exposure to applied functional data analysis is beneficial, solid programming skills in R or Python are essential. Fluency in written and spoken English is required.

Our offer: The research will be carried out as a 3-year project (funding available for 4th year extension), starting as soon as possible. We offer an interesting position in an interdisciplinary research environment. Salary and social benefits are provided according to German civil service rules (E13 TV-L).
