PhD Position (Uni Münster / MPI MIS Leipzig)

The University of Münster and the Max Planck Institute MIS in Leipzig jointly offer a PhD position at the interface of probability theory and analysis in the research groups of Martin Huesmann and Felix Otto.

The position is funded by the SPP 2265 "Random Geometric Systems":
The research topic will be in the area of optimal transport and matching problems.

The successful candidate is expected to have a master degree in mathematics or a related field, a good background in probability theory and analysis and proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of German is not required.

The position (75%, TV-L 13) is for three years. The starting date is ideally between July and October 2024.
