PhD position in Probability at the University of Hamburg

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Hamburg (UHH) invites applications for a PhD position in probability theory. The position is funded via the DFG Priority Program “Random Geometric Systems” (SPP 2265).

The successful candidate will conduct research in the intersection of the areas stochastic geometry and Stein’s method. The applicant must hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Mathematics or a related area at the start of employment. In addition, a good background in Probability theory, as well as proficiency in English is expected.

The contract is for a period of 3 years (75% TV-L E13). The expected starting date is 1st September 2024, or at a later date by mutual agreement.
