PhD position at TU Berlin (co-supervised with TU Munich)

I would like to bring to your attention the following open position in the topic of

"Combinatorial Methods for Learning Max-linear Bayesian Networks"

in my research group "Algebraic and Geometric Methods in Data Analysis" at the Institute of Mathematics of TU Berlin. It is co-supervised by Benjamin Hollering (Chair of Mathematical Statistics, TU Munich).

The deadline is June 14, 2024.

Fakultät II - Institut für Mathematik / FG Algebraische und Geometrische Methoden in der Datenanalyse

Wiss. Mitarbeiter*in (d/m/w) - 75 % Arbeitszeit - Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

The position is part of the Combinatorial Synergies (SPP 2458) project "Combinatorial Methods for Learning Max-Linear Bayesian Networks". This position is co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Carlos Enrique Améndola Cerón (TU Berlin) and Benjamin Hollering, Ph.D. (TU Munich). Funding will be available for travel opportunities between Berlin and Munich. This research project involves synergies between combinatorics, in particular graph theory and tropical geometry, and statistics. In particular, it is focused on developing new combinatorial algorithms which can be used to reconstruct graphs which represent causal relationships between extreme events.

Please send your application with the reference number and the usual documents (all combined in a single pdf file, max 5 MB)
