The research group for Mathematical Statistics in the Department of
Mathematics at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) has an open
position for a
Postdoc, in exceptional cases, a Ph.D. student (100%, 2 years)
starting January 1, 2027 or soon after. The position is primarily funded through the Mathematical Research Data Initiative (MaRDI, https://www.mardi4nfdi.de), the mathematics consortium of the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI).
The candidate will join the group of Prof. Mathias Drton (https://www.math.cit.tum.de/statistics/personen/mathias-drton/) and lead the further development of a data community for Graphical Modeling and Causal Inference (GMCI), which provides a curated collection of datasets, benchmarks, and notebooks and aims to support methodological research on problems such as graphical model selection and causal effect estimation (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.16736174). A competitive salary and benefits are paid in accordance with the public service wage agreement of the Free State of Bavaria (TV-L E 13).
Candidate profile:
