CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
FOR FACULTY POSITIONS IN MATHEMATICS.
The “Dipartimento di Matematica e Applicazioni” (Department of Mathematics and its Applications) of the University of Milano-Bicocca plans to open one or two positions (depending on the number and quality of interested researchers) for tenured (or tenure-track) faculty appointments in the next future. Expressions of interest are encouraged from distinguished candidates at senior or junior levels in all areas of Mathematics. Candidates must have a Ph.D. and should show a strong commitment both to research and teaching. Our department is committed to improving the gender balance of its faculty and particularly encourages applications from women.
The activation of the position(s) will be preferably at the senior level (tenured Associate Professor), but letters from junior scientists will be taken under serious consideration if they show an outstanding record of research for their level of seniority and fulfill the requirements to apply for a (tenure-track) “type B TD researcher” (RTD-B) position.
Strong potential in research and research funding attraction will be very positively considered.
The candidate is expected to cover a teaching load of approx. 120 hours/year (senior positions) or 64 hours/years (junior position). The position(s) will start on 01/09/2022 at the earliest.
The (gross) initial salary is approx. 51.000 euro/year (Associate Professor) and approx. 35.000 euro/year (RTD-B). Social security is included. According to Italian law, a substantial tax cut applies to candidates who worked for the last 2 years abroad.
Interested candidates are invited to express their interest in these tenured or tenure-track positions by contacting the Head of the Department, Professor Gianmario Tessitore (please email both email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org, mentioning in the subject the key-word “Matapp-EOI”). The material will preferably be sent by 14/02/2022.

A cover letter.
Full CV with a list of publications.
A letter with the actual expression of the interest, with a statement of the research and teaching experience.
