2-year postdoc in Turin
The department of Mathematics of the University of Turin is advertising three 2-year postdoc positions. The group of probability is keen to attract strong applicants in the area of applied probability.
There is a broad range of expertise in Turin spanning, e.g., stochastic analysis, data science, statistics of stochastic processes, mathematical finance and stochastic models for biological systems.
The Department of Mathematics has tight links with the School of Management and Economics and with Collegio Carlo Alberto, so there is plenty of opportunities for interdisciplinary research and the university offers a vibrant scientific environment. Last but not least, Turin is a wonderful city at the foot of the Alps (a paradise for keen skiers!).
The official call is at this link https://pica.cineca.it/unito/tipologia/assegni under “Bando assegni di ricerca - Cofinanziati - Tornata XXIII”. The call is in Italian only but the online application form is in English. To be eligible candidates should be about to complete their PhD (or having completed one). Applicants can indicate at most 10 papers for the evaluation procedure and only papers published in the past 5 years will be considered by the panel (in case of parental leave this extends to 6 years).
Any enquiries from applicants in the area of probability may be sent to the head of the group of probability: Laura Sacerdote (email@example.com). I am also happy to take informal enquiries from candidates specifically in the areas of stochastic control and math finance (Tiziano.firstname.lastname@example.org ).
The strict deadline for application is 8 March 2021 at 1pm Italian time.
