2 permanent Lectureships (equivalent to Assistant Professor) at Lancaster University, UK

Applications are sought for two Lectureships in Statistics from
candidates working in methodological statistics connected with
real-world challenges. You should have a proven track record of
publishing research work of international quality and demonstrate
potential for being a capable and enthusiastic contributor to the
Department’s statistics teaching. You will be an independent academic in
the Department, aligned to one of its research groups but following your
own research agenda, while also teaching and carrying out academic
administration.

This is an exciting time to join one of the largest and strongest
statistics groups in the UK. We currently hold more EPSRC funding than
any other UK statistics group and have 26 academic staff, 17 research
associates and over 40 research students, with research clusters in
Bayesian and Computational Statistics, Time Series and Changepoints,
Extreme Value Statistics, Statistical Learning, and Medical and Social
Statistics. Lancaster is one of the UK’s top departments in Mathematics
and Statistics, ranked 5th overall in the 2014 Research Excellence
Framework and 3rd for the impact of its research.

The Department provides an environment which aims to meet the individual
needs of each member of staff. We are committed to family-friendly and
flexible working policies and seek to promote a healthy work-life
balance. We will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible,
and job-share basis wherever possible and habitually agree to flexible
modes of working.

These posts are available from 8th January 2021 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
